I was listening to a podcast recently when I heard about Bronnie Ware, a woman who spent years working in hospice and caring for people in the final weeks of their lives.
During that time, she noticed that many people looking back on their lives shared similar regrets. They wished they hadn't worked so much, had stayed in touch with friends, had followed their own dreams, had expressed their feelings, and had allowed themselves to be happier.
One thing that really stood out to me was how often people put off the things that mattered most. They got caught up in responsibilities, expectations, and the busyness of everyday life. Sound familiar?
It made me think about how often we put our own health and well-being on the back burner. We tell ourselves we'll exercise when we're less busy, get more rest when things settle down, or make time for ourselves when everyone else is taken care of. Spoiler alert: the to-do list never actually ends.
Taking care of ourselves isn't selfish. Moving our bodies, building strength, maintaining mobility, and making time to recharge are all ways we invest in our future. We want to travel, play with our grandchildren, enjoy our hobbies (whether that's gardening, riding horses, or something else entirely), and keep doing the things we love for as long as possible.
And wellness isn't just physical. It's laughing with friends, getting outside in nature, stepping away from our phones, and giving ourselves permission to slow down and enjoy the moment. You know, actually enjoying your coffee instead of reheating it three times.
That's one of the best things about our studio. For 50 minutes, you get to step away from the outside world and focus on yourself. You move, you breathe, you challenge your body (and maybe laugh a little), and hopefully, you leave feeling better than when you walked in.
Make a little time for yourself. You've got things to do, places to go, and plenty of living left to do!
